Bathtubs and shower bases
Where the majority of hotel slip incidents happen, and where the factory tread fails first.

The signature Safe Step process. Engineered to increase the coefficient of friction on the surfaces guests stand on wet, and completed in occupied guest rooms with no room taken out of service.
The failure mode
Slips and falls are among the leading causes of injury in hotels and resorts, and the majority of those incidents happen in the bathroom, on slippery or grimy surfaces.
Every hotel tub and shower base is manufactured with an anti-slip etch pattern moulded into the floor. Over time that pattern stops being a safety feature. Foot dirt, body oils, cleaning chemicals and disinfectants polymerize onto the etch, filling it in. What you see is an unsightly grey stain. What you have is a surface with no traction left.
This is the dangerous part. A tub with a failed tread does not look unsafe. It looks a little dirty. Housekeeping scrubs it, the stain stays, and everyone concludes the tub is simply old.
The treatment
Safe Step's Anti-Slip Treatment leaves hotel bathroom surfaces clean and restores traction, without adding a coating that will chip, peel or discolor. It is fast, and it is the reason this service costs nothing in inventory.
For the risk director
"We cleaned the tubs" is not a defensible position. Certification against published traction standards is. Safe Step's certifications cover the full range of wet surfaces on a hotel property, not just the guest tub.
Apply the same treatment and the same standard property by property and a corporate risk function ends up with one consistent record, rather than a different local vendor's word at every hotel.
Where it goes
Public tiled areas and pool decks are exposed to wet conditions constantly, and they carry the same exposure as the guest bathroom with more people crossing them.

Where the majority of hotel slip incidents happen, and where the factory tread fails first.

The surface that started the company. Permanently wet, permanently trafficked, rarely treated.

Polished stone is at its most dangerous exactly when the weather makes it wet.

The step out of the tub, onto tile, with wet feet. Treated as part of the same visit.

Entries, terraces and stairs where a wet season turns a finish into a liability.

On a Premier Complete Coating the diamond tread is built into the six-coat system from the start.
Next step
A Safe Step assessment reads the actual condition of your tubs, shower bases, bathroom floors and public wet areas, and tells you where the exposure is before someone finds it the hard way.
