Most comprehensive policies cover glass, often with a lower deductible than regular collision claims, and some cover chip repair at no cost to you. Call us with your policy info and we will help you figure out what is covered before any work starts.
As a rule of thumb, chips smaller than a quarter and cracks shorter than a dollar bill can usually be repaired if they are not in the driver's direct line of sight. Repair keeps your factory seal and takes about an hour. Send us a photo or stop by and we will tell you honestly which one you need.
If your vehicle has lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, or adaptive cruise control, it almost certainly uses a camera mounted to the windshield. After a replacement, that camera must be recalibrated to aim exactly where the manufacturer specified. We perform recalibration in-house as part of the job.
The replacement itself typically takes about an hour, plus safe drive-away time while the urethane cures and any recalibration your vehicle requires. Most jobs are in and out the same morning or afternoon.
