Gas Work Is Not The Place To Save Money

Gas work is the one part of plumbing where a shortcut does not produce a leak you mop up. It produces a fire, or carbon monoxide, or an explosion. That is the entire reason this work is licensed, permitted and pressure tested, and the reason we will not do it any other way.
Every gas job we do is permitted where a permit is required, pressure tested before it is signed off, and inspected. If a contractor offers to skip the permit to save you a few hundred dollars, what they are actually offering is untested gas piping in your walls and a problem at resale.
We repair, replace and install gas lines for appliances, ranges, dryers, fire pits, pool heaters and outdoor kitchens, residential and commercial.
The first two mean leave the building now. The rest mean book an inspection this week.
Natural gas has no odor of its own. The sulfur smell is added deliberately so you can detect a leak. If you can smell it, treat it as a leak, leave, and call the gas company from outside.
Audible gas escaping under pressure. Do not go looking for the source, do not switch anything on or off, and get out.
Usage that rose with no change in habit means gas is going somewhere. A small leak is often invisible and odorless at distance, and shows up on the bill first.
Grass or plants dying in a patch along the gas run, with everything around them healthy. Gas in the soil displaces the oxygen roots need.
Symptoms that ease when you leave the house and return when you come back. That pattern is the signal, and it needs professional attention rather than a window opened.
A properly burning gas flame is blue. Yellow or orange means incomplete combustion, which produces carbon monoxide. Stop using the appliance and have it checked.
All of it permitted where a permit applies, and pressure tested regardless.
Somebody will offer to do this without a permit. Here is exactly what you give up.
