Auto glass website design

They are standing next to the car right now.

Glass work is decided in a few minutes by somebody looking at a crack that grew overnight. Two answers turn that visit into a booking, and most sites in this trade make the driver hunt for both.

Two questions, asked in the parking lot.

Somebody is standing next to their car looking at a crack that was a chip yesterday. They want to know what it costs them out of pocket and whether it happens today. Everything else on your site is answering a question nobody asked.

Question 01

What do I actually pay

Glass is one of the few repairs where insurance often covers most or all of it, and most drivers do not know that. A site that explains coverage plainly, says you bill the insurer directly, and names what a cash price looks like removes the hesitation that otherwise turns into three more phone calls.

Question 02

Do you come to me

Mobile service is the single most requested thing in this trade and the most commonly buried on the website. If you go to driveways and workplaces, that belongs above the fold, with the coverage area stated. If you do not, say so before somebody books.

Answer both in the first screen and the call becomes a booking. Bury them under a company history and the driver keeps dialling, because there are four other shops in the search results and one of them will answer faster.

Northern markets add a third pressure the national chains do not design for. Winter sand and gravel put chips in windshields all season, and most of them are ignored until a cold morning and a warm defroster turn a chip into a crack across the driver's line of sight. That produces a spring surge of replacements from damage that happened months earlier, and a shop whose site explains why a small chip should be repaired in November is generating its own work rather than waiting for it.

The part most sites still do not mention

Modern windshields are not just glass. Cameras and sensors for lane keeping and automatic braking sit behind them, and moving that glass means the system has to be recalibrated.

remove and install glass recalibrate the camera static, dynamic, or both return the vehicle with safety systems working skipping the middle step is where the liability lives

The step that separates a shop with the equipment from one that quietly hands the car back uncalibrated.

If you have the targets and the equipment, this is the strongest differentiator available in the trade and almost nobody puts it on their homepage. A page explaining what recalibration is, why it matters, and that you do it in house is both a genuine safety message and a reason to pick you over the cheapest quote.

What else belongs on the site

01

Chip repair, priced honestly and low

A repair is cheap, fast, and often fully covered. It is also the friendliest possible introduction to your shop, and a meaningful share of those cars come back for a replacement later. Treat the chip page as customer acquisition rather than as a low margin nuisance.

02

Say which insurers you bill directly

Drivers want to know they will not be filing paperwork themselves. Naming the carriers you work with, and stating that you handle the claim, converts better than a generic we work with all insurance line.

03

Explain OEM against aftermarket without spin

People read about this and arrive with opinions. A straight explanation of the difference, when it matters, and what their policy will actually pay for, positions you as the shop that told them the truth.

04

Fleet and commercial as a separate door

Fleet managers want turnaround times, invoicing terms and a named contact. Routing them through a consumer booking form loses recurring volume that is worth far more than any single windshield.

05

Booking that captures the vehicle properly

Year, make, model, trim, and whether the car has driver assistance features. Getting that at booking rather than on arrival is the difference between a scheduled job and a wasted mobile trip.

Where to go next

01

Getting found for glass work

Why insurance and calibration queries are worth more than the obvious ones, and where the competition is thin.

02

The whole picture

Site, search, and paid across chips, replacements and fleet work.

03

How we build, generally

Process, stack, and what you own when it ships.

How the work runs

  1. 01 Answer both questions Will insurance cover it, and can you come to me. Everything else is secondary.
  2. 02 Explain calibration ADAS calibration is the difference between a cheap quote and a correct one, so the site explains it.
  3. 03 Name the insurers Listing who you bill directly removes the phone call that was only ever going to ask that.
  4. 04 Capture the vehicle Year, make and model up front means the quote is real and the callback is short.

What glass shops ask us

Q.01What has to be above the fold?

Out of pocket cost and whether you come to them. Those are the only two questions a driver with a cracked windshield is actually asking. Everything else, including your history and your certifications, belongs further down the page.

Q.02Should we put calibration on the homepage?

If you do it in house, yes, and it is probably your strongest differentiator. Most shops still say nothing about it, so a page explaining what recalibration is and why a car needs it after a replacement both educates and separates you from the cheapest quote in the results.

Q.03Is chip repair worth featuring when the margin is small?

Treat it as acquisition rather than revenue. It is cheap, often fully covered, and it gets a car and a customer into your system. A share of those come back for a replacement, and they come back to you rather than searching again.

Q.04How specific should we be about insurance?

Name the carriers you bill directly and say plainly that you handle the claim. A generic line about working with all insurance reassures nobody, because the driver's real worry is being left to file paperwork themselves.

Q.05Do we need to explain OEM versus aftermarket glass?

Yes, and without spin. Customers read about it beforehand and arrive with half formed opinions. The shop that explains the real difference, when it matters and what their policy covers, becomes the one they trust.

Q.06What should the booking form ask for?

Year, make, model, trim, and whether the vehicle has driver assistance features. Capturing that upfront prevents the mobile tech arriving with the wrong glass or without the ability to finish the job.
