Eau Claire web design

A metro agency has probably already pitched you.

The Chippewa Valley is close enough to the Twin Cities that business owners here judge a website against metro work. That raises the bar, and it means the usual small market shortcuts do not survive contact with your customers.

We are not from here. Here is what that changes.

Our desk is in Superior, a couple of hours north. Plenty of agencies would list Eau Claire and let you assume otherwise. It is worth being straight about, because it genuinely matters for some of the work and genuinely does not for most of it.

What it changes

Photography and in person meetings

If your project needs a photographer walking your job sites every month, hire somebody down the road. We can travel for a shoot and we do, but a local team will always beat us on casual availability. Ask any agency this question and watch whether the answer is specific.

What it does not

The actual work

Search, build and reporting happen the same way regardless of where the desk is. We are in the same state, working under the same Wisconsin rules, and we are close enough to drive down when it matters. Nobody has ever won a ranking by being physically nearer to their own server.

The reason we cover the Chippewa Valley at all is that it looks like the markets we already know: mid sized, trade heavy, and served mostly by agencies who treat it as an outpost of Minneapolis.

A market that is genuinely competitive

This is the difference between here and further north. Eau Claire is close enough to the Twin Cities that metro agencies chase work in it, and the local field is stronger than a town this size would suggest.

01

You are being compared to metro work

Business owners here have seen what a Minneapolis agency produces, because one has probably pitched them. The bar for what a site should look like is set by that, not by what your competitor down the street has. A site that would pass in a smaller market reads as dated here.

02

The employment base changes the customer

Healthcare and manufacturing anchor a lot of household income here, and the university adds a large population that arrives and leaves on a schedule. That mix produces steadier discretionary spending than a purely seasonal economy, which is good for anybody selling planned work.

03

Rental property owners are their own customer

A university town has a substantial rental stock, and landlords buy differently from homeowners. They care about turnaround, cost per unit and repeat reliability, not about how the finished work photographs. If you serve them, that deserves a page of its own written in their language.

04

The valley is more than one town

Chippewa Falls, Altoona and Menomonie are separate searches with separate results. Treating the whole area as Eau Claire leaves the surrounding towns to whoever bothered to write for them, and they are usually less contested than the city itself.

What we would look at first

Same process anywhere, but the order shifts in a market with real competition and a higher visual bar.

01

Whether the current site is worth saving

We audit before proposing anything. Sometimes the honest answer is that the platform caps what is possible and the money belongs in a rebuild. Sometimes it is that the site is fine and the problem is that nobody can find it, which is a much cheaper fix.

02

Photography, honestly assessed

In a market being compared against metro work, this is often the single biggest gap and the fastest improvement. We will tell you if it is the first thing to spend on, even though it is not something we bill for.

03

Where you actually send trucks

Service area pages built for the towns you genuinely cover across the valley, not a list of everywhere within an hour. The surrounding towns are usually easier to win than the city.

04

Work you can check

Our case studies are real businesses with real numbers, most of them further north. Go read them and judge the work rather than the address on our letterhead.

How the work runs

What Chippewa Valley businesses ask

Q.01Are you based in Eau Claire?

No, and we would rather say so than let you find out later. We work from Superior, a couple of hours north, in the same state and under the same rules. We travel down when it matters. If you need somebody who can be on a job site at short notice every week, hire locally and we will say the same thing on a call.

Q.02Why should we hire you over a Twin Cities agency?

Usually price and attention rather than talent. Metro agencies price for metro overhead and a business your size tends to end up with their junior team. If a specific agency is genuinely giving you their best people at a fair number, take it, and we will tell you that too.

Q.03Do you cover Chippewa Falls and Menomonie?

Yes, and they should be treated as their own pages rather than folded into Eau Claire. They are separate searches with separate results, and they are usually less contested than the city, which makes them the easier half of a valley strategy.

Q.04We rent to students. Is that a different kind of site?

It is at least a different section. Landlords and property managers buy on turnaround, cost per unit and reliability rather than on how the finished work looks. Speaking to them in a consumer voice loses work that is steadier than most homeowner jobs.

Q.05Our site is a few years old but it works. Is that a problem?

Depends what it is being compared against. In this market that is often metro work, and a site that would pass elsewhere can read as dated here. We audit first and tell you whether it is a rebuild, a refresh, or genuinely fine.

Q.06How does working with a team a couple of hours away actually go?

Mostly the same as working with anybody. Video calls, shared documents, and drafts you review before anything goes live. The honest limitation is casual in person availability, which is why we lead with it rather than bury it.
