Chapter 01 · The founder

Selling since 15. Building since 2018.

Josh Kimmes started selling on eBay at fifteen and never stopped building. In 2018 he started Bear North because contractors kept getting burned by agencies that over-promised and vanished. He is a father of four in Superior, Wisconsin, and he treats every client budget like it is coming out of his own kitchen table.

You always know exactly what we are doing, how it is performing, and what is next.

Chapter 02 · The team behind your growth

The people doing the work are the people you talk to.

The people doing the work answer your texts. No account managers relaying messages to someone you never meet.

Chapter 03 · Everything we build, you own

Everything we build, you own.

Your domain, your WordPress install, your content, your ad accounts, your data. If you ever leave, you walk with all of it, and we help you pack. Best-in-class offboarding is part of the deal.

The work, on the record.

How we operate

We show the work, every day.

Not a monthly summary written the night before. A live dashboard, daily agent activity, and a human who answers when you ask why something changed.

Worked every day A human makes every call
How it runs

The way the work actually gets done

Less interesting than the origin story, and considerably more useful if you are deciding whether to hire us.

The person who scopes it is the person who does it

There is no handoff from the people you liked in the sales conversation to a team you have not met. That handoff is the single most common complaint contractors have about the agencies they left, and it is structural rather than accidental: it happens whenever selling and delivering are separate jobs. Here they are not.

Automation does the counting, people make the calls

A lot of this work is measurement, and measurement should be automatic. Audits run on a schedule, ad accounts get swept weekly, dashboards update without anyone remembering to update them. What does not get automated is the decision about what to do with any of it. A tool can tell you a campaign's cost per lead doubled. Only a person who knows your business can tell whether that is a problem or the predictable cost of chasing a job type worth four times as much.

You own everything

The website, the domain, the ad accounts, the tracking, the data. All of it is in your name and stays in your name if you leave. Some agencies hold the ad account or build on a platform you cannot take with you, which converts a client relationship into a hostage situation. If we are worth keeping it should be because the work is good.

We say no

Not every business that asks is a fit, and taking on work we cannot move is bad for both sides. A market without the search volume, a business whose intake cannot handle more calls, or an owner who wants rankings guaranteed are all reasons we will say so early rather than bill for six months and part badly.

Where we work

Home services, and mostly the trades: heating and cooling, plumbing, roofing, remodeling, garage doors, concrete, glass. Staying inside one vertical is what makes the pattern recognition worth anything. An agency that works with dentists and law firms and contractors knows the general shape of marketing. It does not know that your July looks nothing like your February.

What we are

Nothing built to trap you.
