Air Conditioning Services in Superior, WI & Duluth, MN
Short summers deserve working AC.
We get maybe eight good beach weeks a year. Spend zero of them sweating through a heat wave with a dead condenser.
Sized right, set level, charged correctly.
An oversized AC short-cycles and leaves the house clammy. An undersized one runs all day and loses the race. We size to your actual home, set the pad level, and verify the charge with gauges, not guesses.
- Repair on all makes and models, parts on the truck
- Ductless mini splits for homes without ductwork
- Heat pump cooling when replacement time comes
- Spring tune-ups included for Comfort Club members
The government may cover part of this.
$2,000Federal 25C tax credit
Qualifying cold-climate heat pump and high-efficiency installs can earn the federal 25C tax credit: 30% of project cost, up to $2,000. Utility rebates through programs like Minnesota Power and Superior Water, Light & Power may stack on top, depending on the equipment and your address.
We flag exactly what your install qualifies for on the written estimate. And we never pad a price to "cover" a rebate. The discount is real or we do not mention it.
When the AC starts telling on itself
Blowing warm air
Compressor or refrigerant trouble, and the most common July call we get.
Ice on the lines
A frozen line set means airflow or charge problems. Shut it off and call.
Short cycling
Starting and stopping constantly wears the compressor fast.
Loud compressor
Grinding or screeching from the outdoor unit is a warning, not a quirk.
House feels sticky
An AC that cools but never dries the air is not doing half its job.
Breaker keeps tripping
An electrical fault worth catching before it becomes an expensive one.
July waiting lists are real. Beat the rush and call at the first sign. Request service or call (715) 817-4404.
Neighbors who made the same call
"Had a cold climate heat pump installed with gas furnace backup. I received 3 bids and Advantage Air had the best price without artificially lowering it with rebates. They were on time, removed the old oil furnace, coordinated all the electrical work, and did a great job explaining the new technology."
AC season is short. The wait for repairs should be too.
Asked during every July humid spell
More every year. Twin Ports summers are short but the humid stretches are real, and a right-sized system costs less to run than most people expect. For homes without ductwork, ductless mini splits cool the rooms you actually use.
Usually a dirty coil, a failed capacitor, or low refrigerant from a leak. All three are diagnosable in one visit, and you approve the price before we fix anything.
If your furnace or AC is due for replacement anyway, yes. A cold-climate heat pump cools exactly like an AC in summer and heats most of the winter too. See our heat pump page for how that works up here.
Once a year, ideally spring. A clean coil and correct charge can cut cooling costs noticeably, and Comfort Club members get the checkup included.
Beat the next heat wave to the punch.
