Septic & Holding Tank Service in Superior, WI & Duluth, MN
Past the city lines? We still come out.
Most heating companies will not touch a septic system, and plenty of plumbers will not either. We do both, because six plumbers on staff came with the Botten shop in 2021.
One call for the furnace and the tank.
Live outside city sewer and you already know the drill: the heating company handles the furnace, a plumber handles the house, and somebody else entirely deals with the tank. Three numbers, three schedules, three people blaming each other. We are set up so it is one.
- Holding tank service on a schedule, not on a surprise
- Septic systems and the household plumbing that feeds them
- Straight answers on what your county expects for your property
- Same crew for the water heater, the drains, and the heat
They are not the same thing.
A Septic System Treats
Solids settle, bacteria do the work, and the liquid disperses through a drain field on your property.
A Holding Tank Holds
No treatment, no drain field. It fills, and it gets pumped on a schedule. Common where a lot will never pass for a field.
Scheduled Pumping
Interval depends on tank size and how many people live there. We help you set one instead of guessing.
Warning Signs
Slow drains everywhere, gurgling, odor, or soggy ground over the field. Call at the first, not the third.
Buying A Property?
Have the system looked at before closing. It is a lot cheaper to know now than to find out in March.
What Not To Flush
Wipes, grease, paint, and harsh chemicals. A septic system is a living process, and chemicals end it.
Neighbors who made the same call
"Very prompt and courteous, explained everything well. We have used a local competitor in the past, and Advantage Air has the extra touch of customer service, including the people who schedule the plumbers. They made a very stressful event stress-free."
What rural homeowners ask
A septic system treats waste on site and disperses the liquid through a drain field. A holding tank does not treat anything, it just holds, which means it has to be pumped on a schedule instead of when something goes wrong. Plenty of properties up here have holding tanks because the lot or the soil would never pass for a drain field.
With a holding tank you should be on a set interval based on your tank size and household use, not waiting for a warning. With a septic system, slow drains, gurgling, odor, or soggy ground over the drain field are all signs to call before it becomes a backup.
Because it is a different trade with different licensing, and most heating shops simply never added it. We have six plumbers on staff after joining forces with Botten Plumbing in 2021, which is why one call can cover your furnace and your tank.
Wipes of any kind, including the ones labeled flushable, plus grease, paint, harsh drain chemicals, and anything that kills the bacteria doing the actual work. A septic system is a living process, and most failures we see started with what went down the drain.
Out past the sewer lines? Good.
That is exactly the call most shops turn down. Get your tank, your plumbing, and your heat handled by one company.
