Advantage Air van on a Twin Ports job

Careers at Advantage Air in Superior, WI & Duluth, MN

There's room on the truck.

Family-owned since 2014, two shops, HVAC crews and six plumbers on staff. Small enough that the owner knows every truck, big enough to answer the phone at 3 a.m.

Straight version, not the recruiting version.

This is a Northland service company. In January you will be in cold basements fixing things people urgently need working, and in July you will be on condensers. The houses are old, the systems are varied, and no two calls look the same.

  • Furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and plumbing under one roof
  • Real boiler work, which is getting rare and worth learning
  • An on-call rotation that is shared and scheduled, not sprung on you
  • A small enough shop that the owner still runs the schedule himself

What we look for

HVAC Technicians

Diagnostic instinct on furnaces, boilers, and heat pumps. Comfortable explaining a fault to a homeowner in plain English.

Licensed Plumbers

Service plumbing across old housing stock, plus septic and holding tank work that most shops avoid.

Install Crew

People who care whether the runs are level and the lines are labeled, because we photograph this work.

Apprentices

Willing to learn and show up on time. The trade is short on people and we would rather train than wait.

Dispatch & Office

A customer got specific in a public review about how good our scheduling people are. That is the bar.

Anyone Local

Knowing these neighborhoods, these houses, and this winter is a genuine advantage on this job.

Honest answers

For the licensed roles, yes. For everything else, tell us where you are. We would rather talk to somebody genuinely willing to learn the trade than pass on them because a box was unticked.

Yes, and we will not pretend otherwise. We answer 24/7, which means somebody is up when a furnace quits at 2 a.m. It is shared, it is scheduled, and you will know exactly what it looks like before you take the job.

That is a real conversation, not a number on a web page. Call the office and ask. You will get a straight answer from someone who can actually make the offer.

Superior or Duluth. We dispatch from both, and where you are based usually comes down to which side of the bridge you live on.

Call and ask who's hiring.

No portal, no auto-reply. Ask for Joe and have an actual conversation about the work.
